Apis Dorsata in India 2012

We took these pictures of Apis Dorsata in India in 2012. They were just next to the road in a cool grove of trees. The honeybees are huge compared to their Western cousins.

There were unfortunately some local people who were "honey hunters" selling honey nearby. They had removed all the comb, brood and all. We spent some time chatting to them and (we hope) managed to convince them that taking all the comb was counter proactive to both the bees and themselves.
