Our Nucleus hives or "Nuc hives" as they are more commonly know to are a great addition to our range. Made from top grade marine ply these nuc's are built to last. Available in either a build it yourself flat pack option or a ready built complete version the choice is yours.
Our nuc boxes consist of Varroa floor, double entrance (one can be blocked off) crown board and galvanised watertight roof.

Nuc boxes or nucleus hives are essentially a beehive in miniature. They are used for various reasons, but mainly to create new colonies and queen rearing.
The dimensions of the nuc hive being physically smaller than a normal beehive, allow the bees to control the humidity and temperature. Because there are less bees in a nucleus hive than a normal full sized beehive the reduced size of the nuc is beneficial to the bees.
